Dana Harader has been a teacher of children/youth with emotional and behavior disorders in traditional and hospital education programs. She is currently assistant professor in the Department of Psychology and Special Education at Texas A&M University – Commerce.
For seven years, she held the position of behavioral consultant for a special education cooperative of 25 school districts in western Kentucky. In this capacity, she helped school district leadership in developing Special Education programming and training modules in the areas of special education procedures and in all aspects of assessing and educating students with emotional/behavioral disorders. While a behavior consultant, she worked on a number of programs for the Kentucky Department of Education, including the Kentucky Model Schools project and the Kentucky Instructional Discipline and Support (K.I.D.S) project, both statewide initiatives to help schools and districts develop positive, proactive, and instructional discipline policies.
For five years, Dana was assistant professor in the Department of Adolescent, Career, and Special Education at Murray State University, where she taught classroom management and functional behavior analysis courses using the CHAMPs manual and Teacher’s Encyclopedia as required course texts.
