Phyllis Hamilton began her career as a staff therapist for the Devereux Foundation in Victoria, Texas. There she conducted individual and group therapy sessions, psychological evaluations, parent training, and staff development. After three years, she took a position with the Jackson County Special Services Co-op where, as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, she began working with students, parents, teachers, and administrators providing special education counseling and psychoeducational evaluations.
Currently, Phyllis is an Education Specialist with the Region III Education Service Center. In this role, she provides technical assistance to educators in the area by developing programs and training designed to support the educational process.
Phyllis continues to work with students and parents in the schools assessing students with challenging behaviors and conducting special education counseling. In addition, she works with teachers, administrators, and other staff on developing programs and presenting training on behavior management and discipline, schoolwide, classroom, and individual positive behaviorals supports, and crisis intervention and prevention.
